News about god-men have been pouring in like showers. Here is one about a god-woman, for a change. Jai Kishori is a god-woman frequently appearing on T.V. channels in programmes revolving around spiritual stuff. In one of her discourses she is reported to have said, “Meat lovers kill innocent animals. Stay away from meat. Do not become Sinners.” Has she practised what she had preached?
Recently she returned from a foreign trip after attending a religious discourse event. When she alighted from the aircraft, her vanity bag attracted the attention of people in the airport. It was a rare kind of hand bag manufactured by a company called Christian Dyore. Cow-hide is used to make the bag soft and smooth. The company had confessed during an internet event that it is a fact. The cost of this special kind of vanity bag is about INR 2 lakhs to 40 lakhs, depending on the designs.
A leading Delhi newspaper reported the news asking – “How could this god-woman buy a vanity bag made of cow-hide spending a huge amount? She used to talk much against cow slaughter. How dare she uses a bag made of cow-hide?” When her vanity bag became a talk of the town, the god-woman Jai Kishori responded with a shocking reply –
“I have not renounced my life completely. I am an average woman like all others. I too have desires, likes and dislikes. I liked the bag and bought it for my use. Why do media people keep prying into my personal belongings? It is none of their business. There are many problems in our country waiting to be solved. Why can’t these media reporters go and solve them if they have nothing better to do? Following me and inspecting my hand bag is disgusting.”
Zee-News channel recently reported that this god-woman Jai Kishori earns nearly 25 to 30 lakh rupees per month. Many corporate companies have paid her several lakhs of rupees in advance for her religious discourse programme. They are waiting for the dates of events to be confirmed.
The father of god-woman Jai Kishori, Radheshyam Harilal, is working in a temple as “Swamiji”. Jaikishori grew up accompanying her father in singing devotional songs in temples and public places. She is a school drop-out who quit studies from the eighth standard. Gradually, she had learnt the tricks of the trade and had smartly become a god-woman, as it is very easy to take our people for a ride. Zee News has exposed her true face by these details.
In his play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, William Shakespeare exclaimed through a fairy named Puck –
“What fools these mortals be!”
when we hear about the people who believe in her and run after her, we realise, Shakespeare was quite right.
