Covid – 19 has overhauled the overall developments, rapidly effected not only in our country but all around the world. Apart from the significant human loss, many setbacks have crept in the countries that boost on their technological progress. Still the solution i.e. discovery of medicine or mode to cure the Corona pandemic has not been found out. The history of medical science has witnessed many of crises like this viz. small pox, cholera etc. but managed to come out of it successfully. The dangerous small pox has been wiped out from the world completely. Final salvation stage has to arrive at to eradicate Corona pandemic. Until then only through self-restraint and through correct measures by the Governments, the Corona crisis has to be managed.
Self-restraint by individuals is utmost important. Prevention is better than cure. Many people are not societally conscious of the Corona endemic. They are habitual more in the breach of rather than the practice of social discipline. The magnitude of the pandemic and its spread is not fully realized by the public. Individual needs are prioritized over the safety of the society at large. In case individual infections rise alarmingly, any amount of preventive measures by the rest will not serve the purpose and it would result in huge fatal in bulk. Realising the future dangers, adjusting to live with small discomforts is the wise approach. Managing to avoid the forthcoming crisis by the meticulous adherence of self-restraint through social distancing, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) frequent uses of sanitisers, washing of hands with soap etc.
A few positive features have been practically felt and experienced by everyone. When the cleanliness of surrounding and environment is needed, services that are rendered by the scavenger-brethren are realized very much nowadays and respected by the society at large. Prior to the Corona pandemic spread, the social exclusion of these brethren was substantiated through threadbearing discourse by the vested interests who have been exploiting the society generations together. If the scavenging workforce do not serve at this critical period, many of us would not have been alive to discuss like this. The sporadic respect shown to the noble service by garlanding them and performing the pathapooja symbolically should not be strategic to the current Corona times.The social respect showered on them has to be sustained and recognized by providing due compensation of regularizing their service conditions permanently and ensuring with adequate living environment besides social inclusion.
The believers who have got faith in the so called ‘almighty’ have to understand at the current crisis that no omnipotent come and save the humanity from the Corona pandemic. Even the deities and non-deities at the worshipping places have been subjected to lockdown. The lock down is to protect the place and the people likely to throng up for worshipping from the pandemic. It is explicit and real that the safety of humans is in the hands of only humans and not vested with any super power. This reality has to be understood, even it is not accepted openly but acted on in future. Instead of having belief in super power, developing scientific temper will solace human mind with aiming to proceed further and further on science and technological front with concern for humanity. This positive imbibing, despite difficult to digest has to be sustained.
Due to the prolonged lockdown which endures as Corona 3.0, the economic activities of the country has almost come to a halt. The labour force deployed in the various production and service activities have been rendered, in abundance jobless and thereby penniless. To reengineer the economic activities, mere individual initiative will not suffice. The Governments both at the Centre and the States have to exert significant stimulus and that alone could solve the problem; the political masters have to discharge their responsibilities beyond the political frontiers. All the potential expertise available in the country and abroad have to be harnessed and utilized to rebuild the indigenous economy. The time and space of action are vast but it has to be commenced at once. Treading the proper path itself is the utmost need of the hour. Let the journey start immediately!
