A Discussion Meet of the Dravidar Kazhagam Youth Wing was held on 30th April, 2022 at Periyar Thidal, Chennai. After discussion on several vital issues, 14 Resolutions were unanimously passed and adopted:
Accomplishing the Resolutions of DK’s Chief Executive Meeting
1. Resolved to accomplish all the tasks as per the resolutions adopted on 19th March, 2022 in the chief executive committee meeting held under the presidentship of respectful Asiriyar Dr. K. Veeramani.

Thanks to Asiriyar for the massive tour
2. Resolved to convey gratitude to Asiriyar Dr. K. Veeramani for his tedious tour of 21 days to propagate the protest of DK movement against NEET, New Education Policy-2020 and curbing of the rights of the States. The Youth Wing affirms to strive with him in achieving all his objectives.
Forward the NEET exemption Bill for the President’s assent
3. Resolved to pester the Governor of Tamil Nadu to redirect without any more delay, the NEET Exemption Bill to the President of India for his assent to exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET.
PSUS – Curbing the dominance of other States people in TN
4a. Resolved to strengthen the stansd of Asiriyar Dr. K. Veeramani for the due representation for people of Tamil Nadu in public sector jobs in Tamil Nadu. The illegal appointments in such recruitments must be stopped by collective efforts and protests.
Protesting against Tamils ignored in Tamil Nadu
4b. Resolved to organize a protest in front of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) on 9th May 2022, against ignoring candidates from Tamil Nadu and appointing candidates of other States. NLC management is to be strongly urged upon to cancel earlier recruitments and conduct fresh placement interviews in a fair manner.
Commending Asiriyar on 60th year of his ‘Viduthalai’ Editorship
5. Resolved to commend Asiriyar Dr. K. Veeramani who has been shouldering the Editorship of the daily ‘Viduthalai’ for 60 long years and to collect 60,000 annual subscriptions for ‘Viduthalai’ through the efforts of the DK’s Youth Wing.
Organising Weekly workshop on Periyarism
6. Resolved to organize in every district and zone, workshops in Periyarism, regularly every week on Saturday and Sunday, and to motivate the youth to participate in large numbers.
Sensitising Periyar Social Security Wing
7. Resolved to organize training camps in selected zones under the caption – ‘Periyar Social Security Wing; nominating 15 trainees in each zone to learn Disaster management skills. They are also to be taught martial arts such as Karate and Silambam to make themselves physically fit and stronger. The objective is to be prepared to help the society when there are unexpected Natural disasters paralysing normal life.
Conducting wide spread Discussion Meets
8. Resolved to urge upon all the State, district and zonal executives of the Youth Wing to tour far and wide and conduct discussion meets; to establish many more branches of the DK’s Youth Wing; to enlarge the wing in all the corporation and municipal zones in Tamil Nadu as well as Puduchery Union Territory – in order to revitalise all the activities.
Organising Propaganda – Street Meets
9. Resolved to organise Street Meetings to propagate the policies of our movement and to conduct conferences in several places to spread Periyar Thought and the periodical statements of Asiriyar Dr. K. Veeramani on vital issues, that are related to the Union Government and other issues.
State level conference of DK’s Youth Wing
10. Resolved to conduct our youth wing conference at Ariyalur on 30th July 2022, as it was put off during COVID-19 pandemic. This State level conference would be preceded by a grand rally of youth wing cadres.
Periyar-1000 Competitions
11. Resolved to conduct PERIYAR-1000 competitions on August 19th, 20th and 21st by the participation of students in large numbers.
Periyar Mobile Book Fair
12. Resolved to conduct PERIYAR MOBILE BOOK FAIR from 7th May, 2022 to 30th May 2022, in order to spread Periyar Thought far and wide, all over the State of Tamil Nadu.
Enrolling Membership
13. Resolved to enroll youngsters as new members in large numbers for the Periyar Training Camp, scheduled to be held in June 2022 at Kutralam (Tamil Nadu). The new members are to be motivated for active participation in the training camp.
Protest against Hindi Imposition
14. Resolved to organize a meet on 4th June 2022 to voice our protest against the imposition of Hindi language on non-Hindi States by the Union government. The group discussion and analysis of the meet would be followed by a general conference to chalk out measures to curb the imposition.
