Time and again Godmen and Godwomen have been pulling wool over the eyes of gullible mob in our country. Recently one such amusing incident was witnessed in a temple at Walajabad town in Tamil Nadu.
A self-appointed God woman called Kabila used a cobra for her magical tricks and performed some skulduggery to make people believe that she can heal sick people by her divine power.
The forest department officials arrested her for tormenting a snake. We welcome prevention of cruelty to animals and reptiles.
Had they arrested her on religious grounds, we rationalists would have applauded in delight. What about “Prevention of Superstition” – which is a “Cruelty to human beings?”
