Besides numerous irrational thoughts and activities revolving around us in the present union government headed by the BJP and backed by the RSS, the latest addition is promoting the consumption of cow urine. We find photographs of many fanatics gulping glass full of this harmful animal waste. Cow urine is unfit for humans as per the recent report of Indian Veterinary Research Institute, functioning at Bareily in U.P.
A few months ago a judge in a high court of Gujarat stated that every cow should be treated as mother by people; its bloodshed is a curse to our land. He further said that cow urine is the best antidote that can prevent all diseases. These words from a learned custodian of law were indeed shocking. They were totally against scientific temper and rational outlook.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that cow urine could cause mental disorder since it contains harmful bacteria. Researchers confirm that cow urine leads to several health issues such as anxiety, depression and stress. Ms.Sunita Cherian, the chief culture officer of WIPRO says that drinking cow urine would affect mental health of workers and curb psychological safety in their work place. The hazardous bacteria in cow urine may cause multiple biological complications, according to eminent scientists and research scholars.
Gullible people are being misguided by false assurances that cow urine is a panacea; a cure for all diseases. The truth is that it has no medical effect on anyone. It is a pity, most people worship cows calling them “Go-matha” and sanctifying them. Sprinkling it on head and on the floors in houses is another folly. Another research institute ICAR has also alerted us about the imminent danger of consuming it. There are heated arguments all over the country over this irrational issue.
According to Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI). 14 types of bacteria have been discovered in cow urine, which could badly affect human intestines and abdominal systems. This idiocy should be curbed before it is too late.
