Snowfall is heavy in American states and several European countries. Thick fog envelops the cities. People find it difficult even to move their cars out of their garage as heavy boulders of snow block the gate and the passage outside. Maintenance staff keep removing snow using various devices. Fog and mist cause car accidents too, since the visibility becomes poor. Fog keeps people stranded preventing their movement and hindering their travel.
Quite similar is mental fog which almost paralyses us. The recent COVID-19 pandemic turned topsy-turvy the lives of most of us. Loss of lives, fear, anxiety and inexplicable sufferings enveloped our minds as mental fog. For nearly two years most people all over the world, merely existed, nearly exhausted. This mental fog still remains uncleared in the minds of many of us. Mental health experts and eminent psychologists have conducted researches and come out with solutions that make us heave a sigh of relief.
I wish to share with our readers what I read in various journals. The articles were all about clearing mental fog, caused by our stress and strain, depression and dejection. They are simple remedial measures to be followed without a lethargic attitude.
We are advised to drink pure warm water as much as possible, since even a mild dehydration could affect our alertness. Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) drinks are suggested for the same reason. Drinking sufficient quantity of warm or tepid water helps us get mental clarity. 64 ounce of water (8 glass full) per day seems to be ideal. Cucumbers and watermelons are good alternatives. Food stuff leading to obesity must be avoided. Fibre-content is better.
It is better to stay away from packed food and snacks, with expiry dates on the containers. Fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and vitamins – minerals content food are ideal for a healthy body. A warm water bath and a little bit of reading before going to bed would also clear the mental fog. Learn to adapt yourself to a fixed schedule every day. Removal of mental fog is necessary because a healthy body without a healthy mind is useless.
Phyto-nutrients and macro-nutrients are ideal to clear mental fog, according to medical experts. Avoiding food may also lead to low energy and cause mental fog. Skipping breakfast is equally bad. Exercises are essential. Especially, Aerobic exercise is ideal for our lungs. Insufficient sleep also affects our reaction speed. Systematic life-style habits cause good relaxation.
Research scholars advise us to chalk out a plan and adhere to the biological clock in us. Watching television must stop a couple of hours before we go to bed. Light food at night is better. Good food habits and uninterrupted sleep are the keys to clear mental fog. We can easily get rid of depression and stress if we eat well and sleep well. Clearing our mental fog wisely would certainly make our life lovable.
