An outfit called Arogya Bharate a wing of the RSS claims to have the right recipe for young couple to beget super babies, ‘susantati’ as they put it. But the way in which they are going to make it possible, sounds bizarre to say the least.
Following a procedure, the outfit claims, parents can have children quite unlike themselves, with a high IQ, tall stature and fair complexion, irrespective of whether the parents have them or not.
They begin with nadi shuddhi and deh suddhi, by which the male sperm and the female egg can be purified – cleansed of genetic defects.
This is shere nonsense because sperm is always on the move and it is impossible to interfere with one of those. So far, medical science has not found any way to interfere with the working of genes.
And remember, this shuddhi is not done through surgery, but through chanting of mantras. This has to go on for ninety days, after which the couple should have copulation at a time fixed according to astrological calculations . This will ensure conception of a super child!
And then the mother will come under the control of the project, eating the food persevered and chanting slokas.
Have you started laughing? Of course, any sane person will. But when a seminar was held in Kolkata, sixty couples had signed up and many of them turned up. There is no dearth of credulous people anywhere – but in some parts of India credulity is the order rather than exception.
When Child Activists came with a court order to attend the workshop and find out the facts, they were denied entry in a rather rude manner.
Beware : This project, called Garbh Vigayan Sanskar seems to have taken off in Gujarat and Madyapradesh and is poised to cover the whole of India.
It is up to the right thinking people to act before young couple are lured by these claims and end up losing health and money.
