Beware of indirect arrangement for a Presidential form of Government!!
Regional Parties should fight to destroy this concept in the fetus itself!!!
The One Nation, One Poll policy proposed by the BJP Government at the Centre is only a tactics of the RSS to introduce the single culture throughout India. In his statement issued on 20th June 2019, K.Veeramani, President of Dravidar Kazhagam has urged all Regional parties to strongly oppose this decision of the Central Government and to destroy the idea in the fetus itself.
The BJP Central Government under Narendra Modi, within 20 days from assuming the power in the Centre, has started to act speedily like a cyclone to implement all the agenda of the RSS with its brutal strength in the Lok Sabha and relying on the collaboration with their supportive media.
Many landmines are ready to operate
So many landmines are on the march to demolish the principles of democracy, socialism, secularism.
In the name of National Education Policy, an attempt is made to impose on this vast nation having diverse religion, culture and language with educational rights of the States with one religion (Hinduism), one language (Sanskrit), one culture (Hindu culture).
While the Education system has to be advanced towards 21st and 22nd Centuries, the new education policy speaks of ancient culture is nothing but sugar coated poison.
Implementation of each and every agenda of the RSS is being speed up in a hurry.
In this series, the next major announcement of the BJP Government’s “one nation, one poll” is to pave for the RSS agenda for one culture and one authority.
Proposals of conducting elections simultaneously for the Parliament and the State Assemblies are a very dangerous proposition which will destroy the basic structure of the Constitution of India.
What is the background of this One Nation, One Poll announcement?
- To grab the powers of the State; to change the Federal structure into a unitary system of governance.
- To destroy the influence of Regional parties which is a dangerous preposition and unsuitable for implementation.
- Except BJP, all other All India parties have shrunk in practice.
- This is a prelude to bring in Presidential form of government.
The makers of Indian Constitution followed the British system of Governance (Cabinet System). The Presidential system of Government like USA was not accepted and envisaged in our Constitution.
If Presidential system of Government is introduced, it will be end of the Regional parties. Political parties, which are enjoying influence in all the states throughout the country and having vote banks can only field their candidates in the election. This will not be possible for regional parties. Even AIADMK having ‘All India’ tag, cannot field their candidates.
Indian Constitution’s first Article itself states that India shall be Union of States. When it is so, if elections are conducted simultaneously for the States and if there is no stable government is formed in a State or if action is take under Article 356 or 365, what will be the situation? In that State, till next General Elections to Parliament, will that State remain without any democratically elected government?
Cost austerity is also a deceptive argument; Niti Ayog is only evasive about this argument.
On the one hand, the BJP Government is undertaking speedy action to hand over or sell to the private capitalists and Corporate Houses all the departments including Railways that bring huge revenue to the Government; even the Navaratnas among the public sector undertakings, that are profitable are being handed over to private sector and at the same time, speaking about cost efficiency is nothing but double standards.
The action of the parties like AIADMK welcoming this proposal is like torching their heads with their own hands.
All Regional parties should destroy this proposal in the beginning itself to safeguard Federalism and Democracy.
Also, this proposal of One Nation and One Election is unconstitutional.
