New Delhi: The staff members of Periyar Centre, Jasola, New Delhi assembled to celebrate the 146th Birthday of Thanthai Periyar. They garlanded the statue of Periyar, installed at the Periyar Centre and paid their respect. They distributed sweets and greeted one another.
Visakapatnam: The Atheist Society of India (ASI) celebrated the 146th Birthday of Periyar. The ASI were instrumental to the installation of the first statue of Periyar in the integrated state of Andhra Pradesh. The cadres of ASI assembled at the venue of statue i.e. prominent site of the coastal road; garlanded the statue and paid their respect. All of them raised slogans glorifying the contributions of Periyar to humanity.

The 146th Birthday of Periyar was celebrated at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, Punjab by its Babasaheb Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Society members. Jaswant Rai, District Education Officer of Hoshiarpur was the Chief Guest at the celebration. While addressing, Jaswant Rai said that it is a matter of pride that Periyar’s thoughts are getting spread at present in North India. This sort of celebration will facilitate, Periyar’s ideals reaching the common people, and that such celebration must be organised at many places. The officials and the members of social justice organisations of the Rail Coach Factory participated in the event.
