Independent India faced the challenge of aggressive population growth. The burgeoning population restricted and diluted the reach of full benefits of the economic development to the targeted masses. Due to the near success of family planning programmes the pace of growth of population is put under control to some extent. However India cannot shed down the pride of the largest populated country in the world next to China.
The demographic policy of the country has been betrayed continuously by the saffron forces, by making appeals to the Hindus to bear more number of children. Recently a three – day congregation of seers viz. Dharma Sanskrukti MahaKumbu backed by RSS was held with a ‘Save Hindu’ cry in Nagpur. The meeting was attended by the VHP official Pravin Togadia whose views were very much endorsed by the core RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Vasudevanand Saraswati, whose status as Sankaracharya of Jyotir Mutt was legally challenged, said “each Hindu should have 10 children”.
The congregation proceedings were graced by the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit. Will not their presence aberrate their constitutional positions and obligatory responsibility to the secular country.
How dare these saffron forces talk against the very interest of the country by making appeal to enhance the population of Hinduism?
Never did the saffron forces fail to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a quick decision on cow slaughter ban as well as construction of Ram temple at the disputed site of Ayodhya, and the same was repeated in Nagpur congregation of seers.
