The photo shot by the astronomers’ fraternity depicting the ‘black hole’, the existence of which was only predicted earlier now made visible.
Social slavery has been prevailing throughout the world in one form or another. After the dawn of age of reason and development of scientific temper, one human treating a sect of humans as slavers and treating them inferior vanished slowly. But in India, subjugation of humans still continues despite the explicit adumbration in the country’s Constitution. The subjugation is manifested in three forms viz. untouchables, unseeables and unapproachables under the guise of pollution. Mere physical touch, mere looking at the subjugated, denial of pathway to the enslaved where animals could walk freely are still upheld on the strength of the prescriptions of religious scriptures. To the extent such inferior treatments are prohibited in the political governing code viz. Indian Constitution, they are not in the religious code viz. Manusmriti.
In the mission of debasing the inhuman religious code, only the tip of the iceberg has been demolished so far. Still sizeable target of attack, submerged has to be carried out not through violence but by changing the mindset of the masses who are engulfed in scriptures and puranas.
But a week ago, in the West especially among the scientists fraternity, to be specific, astronomers have witnessed “Unseeable” not in the planet Earth but in the universe far away from our galaxy. Yes; they have seen what they had thought unseeable in the past; they have seen a black hole, a cosmic abyss so deep and dense that not even light can escape it. “We’ve exposed a part of our universe we’ve never seen before” said Shep Doeleman, an astronomer at Harvard Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics.
In the parlance of astronomy the existence of ‘black hole’ was deeply discussed and deliberated but not seen till over a century ago. The existence of the star devouring monsters was first predicted by Nobel laureate Albert Einstein’s theory of General Relativity. According to Einstein’s theory, matter, space and time come to an end and vanish like a dream under the eternal trap, a black hole.
The celestial bodies which had emitted light for many millennia continuously, cease to emit light and become black holes. Even the light passing through them gets trapped; with that it will not be possible to shoot the image of black hole. It was thought impossible. But to-day it has been made possible by the team of 20 scientists by unveiling the first ever image of black hole. The black hole at the centre of a far away galaxy known as M 87 was captured over five nights in April 2017. Researchers processed the data for two years and finally presented the results on 10th April 2019. University of Waterloo physicist, Avery Broderick, a co-discoverer declared “Scientific fiction has become science fact”.
The first image of a black hole in a galaxy called Messier 87, in the constellation Virgo that is about 5.3 million light years from Earth (one light year is 9.5 trillion km). This black hole is about 6 billion times the mass of Sun.
The predictions through scientific reasoning have become reality starting from the shape of earth, spherical instead of flat; from helio centric nature of our galaxy instead of geo centric revolving of galaxy bodies. Few years back, god was discharged from the responsibility of creation of live particles. While discovering the particles Gibbs Boson, at last pointed them as god-damn particles. Despite the discovery being proved by CERN, the discovery is being notoriously called ‘god particle’. Now the turn of ‘black hole’ as a discovery with visible proof has come. Black holes were considered as ‘Gates of Hell’. How it is going to be called popularly despite it being named by the scientists, is not yet known.
