Dialogue between a Mother and her Daughter
The pregnant mother asked her daughter,
“Who do you prefer- a brother or sister?”
The daughter replied, ‘I want a brother.”
“How do you like your brother to be?” the mother asked again.
“Like Ravana” reply came from the daughter.
Mother got shocked, “Why do you like your brother to be Ravana instead of Rama !”
Without any hesitation the daughter explained thus: “Rama doubted his wife Sita, out of gossiping and asked her to prove her chastity in ‘fire testing’. She proved herself; then Rama sent Sita in pregnant stage to wild forest; whereas Ravana fought against Rama, for the cause having insulted his sister, lost kingdom and ultimately sacrificed his life. Ravana did not even touch Sita during her imprisonment and upheld her chastity.”
The pregnant mother kept mum, gazing at her intelligent daughter.
