Dr. K. Veeramani
In order to spread awareness among people about the dire need of conserving social justice and to make them comprehend the Dravidian Model rule in Tamil Nadu, Asiriyar K.Veeramani, President, Dravidar Kazhagam undertook recently another tour of propagation that was as massive as a whirlwind.
The tour commenced at Erode on 3rd February 2023 and ended on 31st March 2023 at Cuddalore with a grand concluding function. Thanking all the cadres and well wishers who rendered invaluable assistance and accompanied him during the thirty day long tour, Asiriyar recalled how the tour started at Erode, the birthplace of Periyar, with urging the people there to help E.V.K.S. Elangovan win the mid-term poll from Erode East Assembly Constituency.
Huge support of the people
In his thanksgiving speech at Cuddalore, Asiriyar said, “To annihilate the unjust Sanatan should be our aim during the parliamentary election to be held in 2024.” He urged all the people to achieve that ultimate objective by restless work and collective efforts. He highlighted the fact that his propagation tour that commenced on 3rd February 2023 – the remembrance day of Arignar Anna – successfully culminated by the coordination of all his beloved comrades.
Asiriyar further said, “Everyday I addressed two public meetings; one in a small town and the other in a larger town. The venues were thronged by a sea of people. The credit for the successful tour should go to all the cadres of the Dravidar Kazhagam who held responsible tasks and toiled cheerfully with amazing enthusiasm.”
“The leaders of the secular United Progressive Front, allied under the DMK, rationalists beyond organisations, parties and outfits, people with an affinity towards Tamil, Periyarists and many others met me everyday in every town. They greeted me and wished my tour a grand success. They used to anxiously inquire about my health condition and express their deep concern over it. Their love and regard revitalised my energy. I was able to ignore and discard my age and carry on with my task absolutely invigorated. They encouraged me to a great extent throughout this one month long tour.”
Respectful Chief Minister’s best wishes
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu – M.K.Stalin – deserves to be rightly called the hero in the history of social justice. To my great surprise, In spite of his hectic schedule of vital tasks, he greeted me and wished my tour a grand success. He took the liberty to advise me to take care of my health. He offered productive suggestions and conveyed his belief that my tour for social justice awareness and for propagating the achievements of the Dravidian Model rule in Tamil Nadu would certainly attain tremendous success. I was greatly moved by the shower of his love and regard as well as his hearty greetings when I began my tour.”
The long tour – indeed memorable
“Irrespective of party affinity and ideologies, people attended all my speeches in large numbers. There were some difficulties on the roads where maintenance work was going on, but negligible hurdles could not curb the speed of my travel or dampen my spirit.”
“Each day the first meet used to start between 4.30 and 5.00 pm. A prominent speaker used to keep the audience engaged till my arrival. Hundreds of people used to keep coming from the towns in the vicinity. By the time I began my speech, people would have gathered in thousands. This was an everyday occurrence. I used to speak for about forty five minutes, totally oblivious of the passing time until I concluded. Moreover, rising from my chair again and again to receive the garlands, books and shawls from the well-wishers was really a useful exercise.”
“Cadres on the dais used to pass on a slip to me after 25 minutes of my speech, reminding me with a note that I was running short of time. While leaving the venue, I used to pause for a while and assure the crowd that I would come again sometime in future to delight them again by a speech. After each day’s tour, we used to heave a sigh of relief but the thought of the next day’s tour used to drive away our tiredness.”
“Twenty five cadres used to accompany me during each day’s tour. The coordinators of our party took care of the hospitality and made us all quite comfortable. Blood is thicker but the bondage of ideology is the thickest. That made my well-wishers take excellent care of us all. The security offered by the police personnel was also commendable. We also had to face at times obstacles by some toxic saffronist forces but that could not disturb my mission.”
A tour – 6,478 km long
“During my 6,478 km long tour of propagation, I spread the glory of the Dravidian Model Rule in Tamil Nadu and explained the concept in detail. This noble task would go on uninterrupted. The toxic shrubs on our path are really perilous. We have to uproot the saffronist Sanatan opponents to achieve our objectives. The 2024 election which is fast approaching is not merely an election; it is an ideal warfare. It would be a battle against the evil called ‘Sanatan’. We would be entering a battlefield to win over all the toxic forces and establish social justice. This 6,478 km long tour is like a prelude for the history to be scripted by all of us. I once again convey my sincere thanks to everyone who made my propagation tour a tremendous success. Let us all strive much more vigorously to reach glorious heights. Thank you.”
